Biography

My name is Ben Refia, I am a colorblind landscape photographer, videographer and I love shooting landscapes and people in ways no one has still shot. I am based in the Algarve, the most southern part of Portugal: a territory packed with beautiful locations and blessed by mother Nature.

I descend from a family of local Algarvians and I was raised amongst the region´s  natural beauty, learning all about the region´s history, nature and protecting the patrimony. 

Amongst fishermen and farmers, I perpetuate this heritage in images.

Today, after being a Dentist for 20 years and working on the tourism industry for 34, I portrait unique perspectives as my art in order to promote, protect and pay homage to the natural world. 

We defend and love what we know better than what we dont.

Photography has always been with me, either as a youngster, looking at the lens or finally as a grown man,looking behind the viewfinder.
